Hey guys! How are you doing?
I'm about to go food shopping, and I'm feeling like I'm in a bit of a rut. What WW-friendly things would you recommend to me?

So, I was down another 2.4 lb, bringing me to a total of -5 lb. In two and a bit weeks. I'm pretty shocked, since this last week was Not Good. But my bad weeks always used to show on the scale a week late, so I'll try to be good this week to keep it down.

So I'm going to a chili cook-off tonight. Goodness, is chili with meat really 8 points per cup??? I can't even find a value for generic vegetarian chili, but lots of them seem around 3 or 4. Any thoughts?

It's been a while, so I really don't have many WW-friendly recipes in my mental arsenal. I have made two things several times thus far (and I like them both a lot, but desire some variety):
1) Berry Scones
2) Barley and balsamic vinegar
If anyone (unlikelily) doesn't have the recipe for either of those but wants it (I do my barley differently from the WW recipe anyway) let me know. If you have a 4-6 point recipe that I can cook at least four servings of at a time and does well in the fridge and microwave, PLEASE let me know!

I got a magnet. 'Cuz I'm a loser.
Haven't been posting my progress lately mostly because I'm not following any WW program. I'm following the "whatever I can hold down and won't hurt me" program.
Still, I got a magnet today. Yay me!

I broke another ten!
Sure, multiples of 10 are as random as any other number but it still makes me happy.

A little good-- a little bad.
First meeting in 4 weeks, down 1.8. Bad because it should have been at least 3. Good because this includes the vacation Munch Monster. Bad because-- dang it, I wanted to hit 15 pounds down by now and I'm only at 13 since the beginning of Feburary. Good because, well it is down.
So. . . I'll take the good with the bad.

Bless me Weight Watchers, for I have sinned.
It's been 3 weeks since my last confession.
I wasn't feeling well 3 weeks ago and didn't want to stay late from work. I was also bloated beyond belief-- so I avoided weigh in. Then we didn't have a meeting after Easter. Then I was on vacation. Today-- no leader. She got stuck in traffic.
I did weigh myself but I misplaced my card and I don't remember the last number-- so I don't know if I went up or down. After being a munch monster while on vacation. . .

But besides that. . .
No matter what they say at weigh in, I'm still very pleased. Looked in the mirror this morning and found I had a waist! Sure it waaaay up under my low boobies, but it is a waist nontheless.
Bracing myself for weigh-in later today.
This week I was not on any kind of plan. I was home sick for two days and ate whatever it was my guys gave me to eat. This included potato chips and pizza.
No one to blame but myself.

Still doing good!
3.4 this week. I think it was all the painting and lifting I did this weekend.
The time will come when the pounds are not coming off as readily. But for now, I rejoice!

This makes me very happy.
A very simple recipe for ginger beer has me very, very happy.
It has ginger, water, seltzer, splenda brown sugar, some vanilla or almond extract, whatever spices I feel like throwing in (usually nutmeg and/or cinnamon).
Chop up the ginger very fine and put it in a jug of water in the fridge at least overnight, the longer the better. (or if you like a lot of bite, blend it). Strain.
Add the other crap.
All the measurements are to taste but it takes about a hand of ginger per two quarts water.

Thoughts on CORE
I rarely cook for myself. I eat lunch from the cafeteria and dinner either take-out, go out-out or what the boy makes. I cook dinner about once or twice a week on average.
CORE (what does that stand for, anyway?) is HARD when you eat out but I've got a few stand-bys. Beef and broccoli or broccoli in garlic sauce with brown rice(not all the way CORE because of the sauce), there's a Thai restaurant that has steamed red snapper with Thai veggies that's FANTASTIC and it's all the way CORE.
But most of the time, I have to wiggle the requirements. The cafeteria serves steamed veggies and I eat them every day. But they are not CORE-- they have butter in them. I can taste it. Yesterday was meatloaf, definitely not CORE, so I had sushi-- also not CORE but much closer.
Today was chicken parm. I bought it, thinking I'd scrap of the parm and just eat the chicken. Nope. Couldn't do it. Although I did take off the pile of mozzerella.
Perhaps I'll do this semi-CORE thing as long as I still lose and then when the pounds will no longer come off, say two weeks with a gain, I'll get stricter with myself. Or switch to point counting.
Anybody else doing CORE? How have you been doing?

I know a lot of it was water because I was so bloated when I ran out of diuretic, but I am now lighter than I've ever been in the last 3 years! Yay!
Now to start exercising so my clothes can fit me.
|Wednesday, March 1st, 2006|
I had my first weigh in on Monday which was one full week and two days of my new exercise/eating well regimen.
I've lost 6.6lbs or 3kg!
Yay! I know most of it is water weight etc etc blah blah but it's put me down to the next stone so it's made me very happy!

I REALLY want to get a brownie when I go down to Starbucks. I have 11 points left for the day and 15 flex points left for the week (ends Wednesday, so today + 2 more days).
